May be it is because of the hipsters but recently the world has seen an explosion in appreciation of all things “crafts”. Bike stands are being adorned with wooly knits, home walls are now adorned with clever collages of stamps (a nod to friend of the store Trudy Cook) and knitting clubs are popping up around town like mushrooms.
So we would like to shine a light on one of the true pioneers of the genre – Lenore Tawney. Back when most people thought of a patchwork quilt when you mentioned American textiles Lenore was developing a career in New York whose hallmark would be unending creativity.
